Rob Newberger Presented Paul Robert Award

Robert Neuberger, current chairperson of the ASQ Binghamton section, was presented the 2018 Paul Robert Award at the 2018 Quality Day Conference held on April 21st at Binghamton University.

Rob followed a very circuitous career path during his early years at IBM, enjoying a number of assignments in seemingly unrelated positions that all came together when he landed in the Quality Engineering group. He has remained in Quality Departments since, at Endicott Interconnect Technologies and Amphenol Aerospace, supporting internal manufacturing processes, purchased components and services, as well as direct customer interfaces.

An ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Rob has been an ASQ member for over 13 years, getting more involved each year. Increased attendance and participation at dinner meetings led to an invitation to join the Executive Leadership Committee as a “member-at-large”. This was followed by a year as the Audit Chair and then the Binghamton Section Chair, a position he still holds.

Rob was born and raised in the New York City / Long Island area, starting his secondary education at Nassau Community College with an Associates Degree in Chemistry. Following graduation, he headed upstate to continue his education at Binghamton University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. Following that graduation, what was supposed to be a temporary position turned into a long-term permanent career move, keeping him in the Binghamton area ever since. That career path has just taken a new turn, as Rob embarks on the next leg with a new position at Pall Corporation as a Senior Quality Engineer.

Rob is very happily married to Shari, an Accountant for the Family Enrichment Network. Together, they have four children and four grandchildren!
